No mine personnel were on site at the time of <br />the inspection. The Edna Mine is a reclaimed strip mine. The portions of the permit area have previously been <br />approved for bond releases. The remaining 1197.6 acres are currently under review (SL11) for final bond release. <br />The mine site was dry with clear skies. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE -Rule 4.05 <br />?Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, <br />4.05.10; Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring <br />4.05.13; Drainage - Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br />Although the mine site is very dry permanent pools remain in the Moffat Pond, Center Ridge Pond and the <br />string of Pearls check dams. Chevron is conducting repairs to the riser at the Moffat pond. The riser currently has <br />been removed but a small berm has been erected to assure the pond does not discharge until it reaches the <br />permitted elevation. <br />Ditches appear in fair to good condition throughout the site. Down drains remain intact and either well vegetated <br />or rock armored. <br />ROADS - Rule 4.03 <br />?Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />?Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />? Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />?Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Roads remain in good to fair condition. 3 trucks with trailers drove through site while the inspection was <br />being conducted. The inspector did not see these trucks later on in the inspection. One blue ATV was noted near <br />the high voltage power line east of the "string-of-pearls" drainage. No people were observed anywhere near the <br />ATV.
