Pineda
Director
The Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety (Division) has identified several other
comments and questions that must be addressed prior to the Division's decision due date. Please
be advised that if you are unable to satisfactorily address any concerns identified in this
review before the decision date, it will be your responsibility to request an extension of the
review period. If there are outstanding issues that have not been adequately addressed
prior to the end of the review period, and no extension has been requested, the Division will
deny this application.
6.4.3 Exhibit C - Pre-mining and Mining Plan Map(s) of Affected Lands
1. The Pre-mining Plan Map and the Mining Plan Map show that mining will occur within the
North Fork of the Arickaree River. However, the Location Map shows that mining will occur
south of the North Fork of the Arickaree River within the main channel of the Arickaree
River. Please clarify this discrepancy and revise all exhibits accordingly.
6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan
2. During the inspection conducted on August 24, 2010, the Operator indicated mining would
be contained to the bed of the Arickaree River. The proposed Mining Plan and Mining Plan
Maps show that mining will occur to the north and south +of the Arickaree River. Please
clarify if mining will be restricted to the bed of the Arickaree River or if it will also take
place outside of the river and revise any exhibit as necessary.
3. The Applicant has stated mining of the interior walls may vary depending on ease of mining.
Unless the Applicant specifies the interior slope of the pit walls, the Division must assume
the pit walls will be mined at a near vertical angle. For the purposes of calculating the
financial warranty, the Division will assume the interior walls will be mined at a slope of
0.5H:1 V.
Office of Office of
Minarl I anrd Rarlamation Denver • Grand lunction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
