Treated Water pH Control The alarm is set to a high (pH 8.8) and a low(pH 6.7) alarm which automatically makes a radio
Station call after 20 minutes. During this 20 minute period, the system works in a self adjustment mode.
This remote alarm triggers at the mill control room and on site radio channel #1. A second alarm is
triggered at the 55 minute mark if the pH does not self-adjust, and discharge is terminated with
the water being diverted to the Clearwater Pond. If the pH self-adjusts during the 55 minute
period, the clock is reset and the system returns to self adjustment mode. Note that the decant risers on
Mayflower Pond can be closed if necessary.
