September 7, 2010 C-1982-056/Foidel Creek Mine JDM <br />- The small 8" pipe along the D-4 ditch under the south end of the coal stockpile. <br />- Work has begun on the damaged F-2(C) culvert in conjunction with the installation of the slurry pipeline. <br />Ditches <br />- Erosion on the ditch embankments of the Pad Drainage Ditch 1 at the Fish Creek Tipple will need to be <br />addressed in order to prevent run-off from leaving the ditch. This work has been contracted with the scope-of- <br />work included with the Fish Creek Tipple Pond outlet pipe. <br />- An area of large amount of cattails was observed in the RDA-1 ditch. This area receives a substantial amount of <br />run-off from the west slope of the refuse area. The cattails and sediment buildup should be addressed to prevent <br />water from leaving the ditch. This work has been contracted with the scope-of-work included with the Fish Creek <br />Tipple Pond outlet pipe. <br />- Non-coal waste or storage equipment should be removed from the RDA-1 ditch south of the refuse pile. <br />All the above mentioned maintenance items will need to be completed by October 15, 2010 <br />GENERAL MINE PLAN COMPLANCE: <br />The longwall was operating as permitted in panel 17 Left of the WMD. One coal train was observed being loaded <br />during the inspection. <br />All maintenance items in noted in this report need to be corrected by October 15, 2010. <br />ROADS - Rule 4.03 ? ? Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3)[1 ? Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) ? ? Surfacing and <br />Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6)0 ?Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />Haul roads and access roads were stable and in good condition at the time of the inspection. Magnesium chloride <br />was applied to the main facilities roads. <br />SIGNS AND MARKERS - Rule 4.02: <br />All mine identification signs, topsoil markers, stream buffer signs, and disturbed area markers observed were in <br />place and exhibited the required information with the exception o the following: <br />- The mine ID sign at the entrance to the rock dust tank off of CR 27 needs to be updated to ensure that all <br />required information is legible. <br />- Disturbance area markers will need to be installed around approved disturbance of the 18LT pad and the 18LT <br />ponds. <br />- Disturbance area markers will need to be installed around the north side of the explosives bunker/material <br />storage area. <br />All sign maintenance issues need to be corrected by October 15, 2010 <br />TOPSOIL - Rule 4.06 El ?Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />The topsoil pile at the 18LT Borehole showed evidence of weed spraying at the time of the inspection.
