No problems were noted during the inspection.
The following pond maintenance items and observations continue to need to be addressed:
- The horizontal discharge pipe for the Fish Creek Tipple Pond is corroded at the point where the horizontal pipe
meets the riser pipe. The corrosion damage is evident around the full circumference of the pipe. TCC had begun
the repair process at the time of the inspection. Equipment has been mobilized on site to initiate repairs to the
horizontal pipe.
Ditches and culverts throughout the main facilities area and all outlaying areas were inspected for compliance.
The following maintenance items need to be addressed.
Culverts that will require maintenance:
- An unidentified culvert along an area of rock checks west of the access road within the Fish Creek Tipple pad
area will need to be identified or removed according to the Foidel Creek PAP. The removal of this culvert is
included with the scope-of-work to repair the Fish Creek Tipple outlet pipe.
- Two culverts along the access road to the 6MN site at the Fish Creek.
- The NWM Vent Fan culvert displayed evidence of cleaning on the inlet side. However, the cleaning did not
appear sufficient enough to provide adequate flow through the culvert.
- Three culverts under the Fish Creek Borehole access road.
- The weld shop culvert displayed evidence of cleaning on the inlet side. However, the cleaning did not appear
sufficient enough to provide adequate flow through the culvert.
- The E-1(b) culvert east of the shop.
- Culvert C-3 east of the batch-weigh station displayed silt fence in order to treat the run-off as approved. The silt
fence was not installed as required in order to adequately treat the run-off. The C-3 culvert also will need
additional cleaning.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 2
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 5
