nviroental
MEASUREMENT OF CONDUCTIVITY AND 'TEMPERATURE
USING YSI MODEL 33 S-C-T PORTABLE FIELD METER
The YSI Model 33 S-C-T meter is a portable, battery-powered instrument designed to accurately
measure salinity, conductivity, and temperature. If another meter is used, refer to
manufacturer's directions
METER SETUP
1. Adjust the meter to zero (if necessary) by turning the Bakelite screw on the meter face
so that the meter needle coincides with the zero on the conductivity scale.
2. Calibrate the meter by turning the MODE control to REDLINE and adjusting the
• REDLINE control so that the meter needle lines up with the red line on the meter
face. If this cannot be accomplished, replace the batteries (see Maintenance).
3. Plug the probe into the probe jack.
TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENT
1. Rinse probe with distilled/deionized (DS/DI) water.
2. Place probe in the solution to be measured.
3. Set the MODE control knob to TEMPERATURE.
CO2126
