Preliminary review of
the information received determined that the following items must be received before the Division can consider
your application as being submitted and technical review can begin:
EXHIBIT A - Legal Description (Rule 6.4.1):
1.) The submitted description needs to indicate the site is located in Township 20 South, Range 55 West. Please
revise this Exhibit and submit a corrected copy.
2.) Exhibit A indicates 9.6 acres will be permitted; however, the submitted application indicates the applicant wants
to increase the permit acreage to 21.49 acres. Please revise this Exhibit and submit a corrected copy.
EXHIBIT B - Index Map (Rule 6.4.2):
3.) Please indicate where the pit will be located on the map supplied from the office of the Crowley County
Assessors. Please revise this Exhibit and submit a corrected copy.
4.) Please label the roads depicted on the two other Exhibit B maps submitted with the permit application. Please
revise this Exhibit and submit a corrected copy.
EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan (Rule 6.4.5):
5.) Please provide a description of the type(s) of reclamation you propose to achieve in the reclamation of the
affected land (Pastureland and/or Rangeland), why each was chosen, the amount of acreage accorded to each, and a
general discussion of methods of reclamation as related to the mechanics of earthmoving; indicate what horizontal
to vertical ratio the mining highwalls will be graded for reclamation. For pasture and rangeland uses, all reclaimed
slopes must be graded to a minimum of a 3:1 horizontal to vertical ratio. However, the Division has observed
enhanced revegetation success in this area on gentler 4:1 slopes.
6.) Please provide a comparison of the proposed post-mining land use to other land uses in the vicinity and to
adopted state and local land use plans and programs.
Office of
Office of
Mined Land Reclamation Denver • Grand )unction • Durango Active and Inactive Mines
