August 19, 2010 C-1981-020/Munger Canyon Mine MPB <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES - Rule 4.10- and 4.11 <br />E Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br />The fully reclaimed coal waste pile remains stable, with no signs of erosion or instability. In 2008 a final waste <br />pile certification was completed and the waste pile site remains in good condition. <br />ROADS - Rule 4.03 <br />[]Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3) <br />G. Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4) <br />[]Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5) and (6)/4.03.2(5) and (6) <br />E Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br />The mine site access road off of Highway 139 was accessible and in good condition. The mine site has been <br />largely reclaimed. There was no activity at the mine site and it did not appear that any one has accessed the mine <br />site: recently. <br />RECLAMATION SUCCESS - Rule 4.15, Rule 3 <br />The lower portion of the reclaimed portal access was inspected. The reclaimed slopes were wet and very muddy <br />masking access up the steep reclaimed portal road slippery and difficult. The reclaimed portal access remains <br />stable and appeared in good condition. The lower riprap channels were all stable. No signs of significant erosion <br />or instability were noted during this inspection. <br />REVEGETATION - Rule 4.15 <br />DVegetative Cover; Timing: <br />At the lower portion of the reclaimed portal access an abundance of a white perennial forb was noted growing <br />along the slopes and in the lower rock channels of the portal access (see attached Photograph No's 3&4). The <br />plant appears possibly to be the noxious form of perennial pepperweed (Lepidium latifolium). The Division will <br />need to investigate this further to confirm the identification and determine if spraying is warranted. <br />OFFSITE SUPPORT FACILIITES - Rule 4.04,4.28: <br />The reclaimed Loma Loadout site was inspected. The sign with operator information, DRMS Permit Number and <br />M SHA ID is in good condition and clearly visible at the site.
