Description: Project area is located approximately 5.0 miles north of Paonia, Colorado <br />15. Legal Location <br />Principal Meridian: 6th X NM Ute <br />Quad. Map: Bowie Date(s): 1965 and 1978 <br />Township: 13 S Range: 91 W Secs: 6 and 7 <br />Township: 13 S Range: 92 W Secs: 1 <br />16. Total number of acres surveyed: 38.6 Private <br />17. Comments: The proposed access road follows the route of an old two- track. <br />IV. ENVIRONMENT <br />18. General Topographic Setting: Mountain ridge slopes and ridgetop. <br />Current Land Use: Grazing and Recreation (hunting /fishing) • <br />19. Flora: Primarily Gambel oak with snowberry, servicebeM dense forbs and grasses. <br />20. Soils /Geology: Brown /dark brown sandy loam/Sandstones and shales of the Mesaverde Grou <br />Undivided <br />21. Ground Visibility: 0 - 5 %(heavy vegetation over most of the study areas except where previously <br />disturbed by the existing two - track road.) <br />22.
