A completed DRMS Availability of Records Form is included with this report.
Fish & Wildlife
No wildlife, with the exception of two pairs of doves and one collared lizard, was encountered
during the inspection. No fresh tracks were seen on the game trails crossing the permit area.
Hydrologic Balance
Ponds A and B were both completely dry. All spillways were clear and in good condition.
From a distance (from the Mining Area No. 3 side of the Pond B drainage), the reclaimed eastern
slope of the northern leg of Mining Area No. 1 appears to be somewhat steep and potentially
susceptible to erosion of the topsoil. The slope was traversed on foot, and was found to be stable,
with no signs of rill and gully formation or erosion of the topsoil resource (Photo 1).
Revegetation
There was significantly more vegetative cover within reclaimed Mining Area No. 1 than was
observed during the 3 -June -2010 bond release inspection. Revegetation sampling for Phase II
and Phase III bond release was conducted during the week of July 19th (communication from Jim
Stover and Steve Viert).
Numerous Tamarisk plants continue to thrive in Ponds A and B, although some that were
submerged for months in 2008 have never recovered, and appear to have died.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 2 of 7
