August 10, 2010 C-1981-033BearMine JJD <br /> Maintenance4.03.1(5)and(6)/4.03.2(5)and(6)11❑Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> The paved haul road was clear of debris from the adjacent property.The guard rail was in place.The <br /> bridge across the river was passable. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The reclaimed haul road and reclaimed fan site continue to show slope stability and a good stand of <br /> vegetation. The backfilled west portals area continues to show slope instability.No new reclamation activity has <br /> occurred since the last inspection.The operator is working on the final disposition of the fence and the power <br /> poles. The remaining mine debris still needs to be removed. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑❑Vegetative Cover; Timing: <br /> The reclaimed road and fan site have a good cover of vegetation.The flat facilities area has a lot of cheat <br /> grass and a large bare area where the mine office used to be.Tamarisk continues to grow at the hillside spring <br /> area,the hillside spring water treatment pond and near the point of discharge into the river.A few occurrences of <br /> thistle were spotted along the reclaimed haul road. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: <br /> The backfilled west portals area continues to show signs of slope instability,probably due to the adjacent <br /> landslide. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign was up at the top of the hill and contained the required information.The <br /> records location sign was also up at the top of the hill.
