Resulting data can then be used in either a direct or statistical "t" test <br />comparison. <br />In 2006 and using the first method, Cedar Creek was unable to document a positive finding for the <br />direct comparisons between the Phase II sampling effort and reference areas (a slight failure was <br />detected), thus a standard statistical "t" test was warranted. (When a direct comparison fails by a small <br />margin, a statistical "t" test of the means is allowable to determine whether or not the tested parameter <br />is actually "close enough" to be considered statistically equivalent.)
