CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: Il) EARTHWORKS A) Subgrade Preparation 1) VLF Fine grading, moisture conditioning, and compaction of subgrade was performed prior to soil liner fill (SLF) placement during the week. The areas inspected and approved for placement are shown on Figure 1. B) Slope Contouring 1) VLF Slope contouring was performed in the following areas; between stations C4+00 (+/-) and C7+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 100 feet left of centerline; between stations E10+00 (+/-) and E21+00 (+/-), approximately 75 to 150 feet right of centerline and between stations H8+00 (+/-) and H18+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 75 feet right of centerline. Slope contouring was performed using various CAT dozers and various CAT excavators. The material generated as the cut progressed was pushed down the slope. C) Overburden to Stockpile 1) VLF Oversize rock within the Phase 5 VLF fill area was removed from fill/cut areas and hauled to the overburden stockpile area east of the east perimeter road near stations A29+00 (+/-) to A32+00 (+/-) right of centerline.
