July 28, 2010 C-1982-057/Seneca II-W Mine DTM
checked later in the season.
SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02:
Mine I.D. signs were recently updated with the correct SCC physical address and phone#as requested in a
previous DRMS inspection.
TOPSOIL—Rule 4.06
❑Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Topsoiling has been completed on regraded pit areas, but topsoil remains in a number of topsoil locations for use
in remaining road reclamation projects, and reclamation of facility areas and sediment pond areas. Most stockpiles
and reclaimed stockpile areas exhibit a good cover of seeded vegetation, but noxious weed infestations were
observed in a couple sites. Stockpile XX east of Road"J"has topsoil remaining and there is a dense patch of
Canada thistle on the north side of the pile, with lower densities of thistle on other portions of the pile and along
the access route, that will need to be sprayed this fall. There is also a high density patch of Canada thistle that
requires treatment across the site of former Stockpile YY,between Channel PM-6 and the undisturbed aspen
block. Reclaimed stockpile site AAA, located along LU5 north of the reclaimed pit in the 017 watershed is well
vegetated in most areas with perennial grass and big sagebrush, but there are some scattered patches of Canada
thistle and houndstongue.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 0
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 1
Page 13 of 19
