July 28,2010 C-1980-005/Seneca II Mine DTM
Stock Pond T-4. Along the old 2 track route from the reclaimed solid waste disposal site to the former topsoil
stockpile site, a dense patch of the invasive annual tarweed was noted, and seeded vegetation was essentially
absent from the stand. The tarweed was in flower, and would be susceptible to herbicide if sprayed promptly.
Control of the tarweed and reseeding with the perennial mix would appear to be warranted in this location. A
patch of what appeared to be plumeless thistle was observed a short distance west of South Road B, approximately
50 yards up the road from Pond 008. This is a biennial plant; flower stalks should be cut down ASAP to prevent
seed dispersal, and the rosettes of this year's crop should be sprayed in the fall. It was noted that Canada thistle in
the vicinity of Pond 004 had recently been sprayed.
SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04:
There was some activity at the office/shop/warehouse activity associated with maintenance/repair of water lines
and other systems that will be necessary for occupation and use of the facilities under the Sage Creek permit.
Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0
Page 4 of 7
