4.7 Nearby Wells
A listing of all the recorded wells within a one-half mile radius is found in the report in
Appendix VI. There are approximately 39 well listed as being applied for within the one-
half mile radius of the Site. Eleven wells are Federal wells for the USGS, seven wells
have no records, four are expired well permits, seven are completed to lower aquifers
(Arapahoe and Laramie Fox Hills), and the others are in an unnamed aquifer. Seven are
irrigation wells, three are recreational, four are domestic/livestock wells, and one is
geothermal. One well is located within one-eighth mile from the Site. A total of 81 wells
are listed as being applied for or issued within one mile from the site.
4.8 Surface Water Control
Surface water will be controlled on the Site according to the Drainage/Grading/SWMP
approved by the Adams County Department of Public Works and stormwater (SWMP)
permit issued by CDPHE. The elevations of the site are currently considerably lower
than the surrounding grounds and should stay that way for many years after the site
operations begin. Stormwater will be controlled using conventional measures using silt
fencing, straw waddle or straw bails. Surface water will be prevented from running on to
the fill area portion of the site using temporary and/or permanent soil berms. As final
elevations are reached, the site will include a stormwater detention pond designed for
releasing stormwater at historic rates.
•
AFS Frei-Henderson Inert Fill Page 11 of 23
MOLEN & ASSOCIATES, LLC
