<br />Topsoil markers were observed at several sites. The discussion in the Topsoil section indicates where markers are
<br />missing or have fallen down.
<br />TOPSOIL - Rule 4.06 ? Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3;
<br />Redistribution 4.06.4:
<br />No topsoil removal or stockpiling activities were observed during the inspection; however a recently
<br />grubbed area and stockpile area were observed and appear to be in compliance.
<br />A road cut was made near an abandoned topsoil pile. In the future, the cutting of these piles should be avoided.
<br />Several dozen topsoil piles were inspected: A77-1, A91-8, A92-1, A92-3, A94-2, A96-2, A97-3, A98-2, A98-3,
<br />Al-08, Al-09, AET1, ASHI, ASH2, BUZ92-1, CG1, D93-1, D97-1, E79-6, E93-4, E93-5, E94-1, E94-2, EMI,
<br />G1-02, G1-03, G1-05, G2-06, G4-02, G06-D6, H04, H93-2, H93-3, HRS, JG5, JG6, JG7, JG8, K1-08, MH1,
<br />MH2, MP 1, MP2, SP5-94, SP6-94, Z1-09, Z2-07, and ZTS-4.
<br />The following issues were identified and require maintenance:
<br />• Additional markers are needed for piles AET1, A92-3, G1-01, G1-03, H04, H93-2, MP2, Z1-09, Z2-07,
<br />and ZTS-4 (at some of these piles the markers may be present but have been knocked down).
<br />• Rills were observed on piles Al-08 and H04. These rills should be repaired.
<br />• Piles AET1, G1-01, and G4-02 are in need of seeding when complete.
<br />• Weed issues are listed in the Reclamation Success section.
<br />It should be noted that slopes exceed 31-1:1V at piles G1-01, G2-06, K1-08, and Z1-09. While 3H:1V is the
<br />maximum slope of topsoil piles per the permit, disturbance of stable and vegetated piles is not recommended at
<br />this time.
<br />In addition, several of the topsoil piles that have been classified as "abandoned" were observed. No issues were
<br />identified with these piles.
