July 14, 2010 C-1981-033/13ear Mine JJD <br /> was no debris from the adjacent property owner that had fallen onto the road. <br /> The bridge across the North Fork of the Gunnison River was passable.A couple of boards were loose on the east <br /> end of the bridge but that did not pose a problem. <br /> RECLAMATION SUCCESS -Rule 4.15,Rule 3: <br /> The reclaimed road leading up to the reclaimed fan site showed no signs of erosional problems or slope <br /> instability.The same was true for the reclaimed fan site and the eastern half of the reclaimed road leading to the <br /> west portal area.The west half of that road and the reclaimed west portal area continue to show instability. <br /> As a follow up to the partial Phase One Bond Release(SL-04)inspection of November 2009,mine debris had <br /> been collected and removed offsite.However, some timbers located just west of the hillside spring water treatment <br /> pond still need to be removed. Also, some debris at the top of the reclaimed road also needs to be removed. In <br /> addition, some household garbage from trespassers on the extreme east side of the facilities area needs to be <br /> removed. The operator will also deal with the noxious weeds.. <br /> REVEGETATION—Rule 4.15❑❑Vegetative Cover;Timing: <br /> The reclaimed hillside had a good vegetative cover,except for the reclaimed and unstable west portal area <br /> and the west portion of the reclaimed access road leading to the west portal area.The regraded mine office area is <br /> bare of any vegetation and there is a lot of cheat grass on the flat facilities area. <br /> Tamarisk had been removed from the hillside spring water treatment pond but still needs to be removed from the <br /> hillside spring area and along the entrance gate fence area. Scattered occurrences of tamarisk, thistle, white top and <br /> bind weed were seen in the disturbed area and need to be dealt with before they become a problem. <br /> SLIDES and DAMAGE -Rule 4.12: <br /> The landslide that is located adjacent to the west side of the disturbed area continues to show signs of <br /> instability. The slide is affecting the backfill of the reclaimed west portals. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> The entrance gate at the bottom of the hill and to the east of the bridge was open.All other mine related <br /> structures have been removed. <br /> SIGNS AND MARKERS—Rule 4.02: <br /> The mine identification sign at the top of the hill contained the required information and was on its post. <br /> On the same post was the"records location"sign.Both signs were clearly visible. <br /> Surface disturbance markers were also up around the disturbed area,except along the cliff due to safety concerns. <br /> The markers consist of permit boundary signs, chain link fence and white pvc piping on t-posts. <br /> The"no trespassing"sign was on the entrance gate. <br /> Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1 <br /> Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0 <br /> Page 3 of 5 <br />
