May Day Mine and Mill Site, Wildcat Mining Corporation, 110(2) Permit Amendment
Exhibit C
(d)' Description of Deposit to be Mined (Rule 6.3.3 (1) (c) (d) (e))
Three types of mineralization are distinguished in the permit area: highly disseminated epithermal
gold-silver-telluride thin veins [typically less than five (5) feet], limestone replacement deposits
and disseminated mineralization in porphyry. Underground mining will occur by conventional
cut-and-fill or shrinkage-stope trackless mining along existing veins of the May Day No. I and
No.2 portals.
As the extent of the deposits is unknown, development and exploration will occur concurrently.
(Detailed discussion of the mine and mining physical setting is presented in Attachment C-1' and
C- I A-Exploration Program).
(e) Mining Operation Components (Rule 6.3.3 (e) (fl (a))
The following components are displayed in Figure E-3 within Exhibit E - Map:
Access Roads: Access road to the mine site is directly from County Road 124 as shown in
Exhibit E-1 and E-2. The access road as designed (Sukura, 2007) is for vehicles where
the gross weight is equal to or less than 15 tons. An access agreement is in place from
County Road 124 to the Bridge (owned by Mr. Mike Clement) crossing the La Plata
River and an easement granted to Wildcat Mining Corporation from Fairview Land
Corporation on a preexisting private road from the bridge to the May Day Mine.
Adits: Underground mining will occur at the May Day Level No. 1 (location shown in
Figure E-3, Exhibit E - Map). Exploration and development activities will occur at No. 2
portal. No mining is contemplated from the Lamb portal) (Rule 6.3.3(1)(e)).
Processing including crushing will operate 7 days a week. Dust production from mining
and milling will be controlled using water generated in the work area. Water consumptive
use is authorized under the approve water right (Exhibit C- 03).
At the May Day Level No. 2 portal the adit will be developed, the portal will be
rehabilitated and steel sets are designed and will constructed (see Attachment C-1B) at
the entrance, and a bench will be extended directly out from the existing bench.
Processing Facilities-May Day No. 1: A mill is contained within a drift with the
dimensions of approximately 15 feet wide, 13 feet high and 100 feet long with steel sets
placed every 4 feet. The mill will be buried under a geotechnically stable cover of not
less than 2 feet to mitigate noise and visual impacts. The milling process is described in
Section (m) of this Exhibit and in the attached 43-101 report (Attachment C-1)
Ventilation
Ventilation has been approved by the Mine and Safety and Health Administration and
will be implemented in accordance with MS14A criteria and guidelines.
