-2-
• Construction of all storm water control measures and retention berms must be done prior to any additional
activities on site.
• DRMS request a 30 day written notice prior to activation of mining operations.
• Permit and affected area boundaries must be clearly identified prior to site activities.
• DRMS currently holds a $17,146.00 financial warranty which is $500.00 more than the estimated current
liability. Based on current disturbance and standby status the amount held is adequate to accomplish final
reclamation. The approved EPP does not significantly increase the liability at this time since most stormwater
control structures are in place. However, an update to the estimate will be done when activation of the mine
next occurs.
If you need additional information, please contact me at the Division of Reclamation Mining and Safety, Grand
Junction Field Office, 101 S. 3rd St., Suite 301, Grand Junction, Colorado 81501, telephone no. 970.241.1117.
Sincerely,
G. Russell Means
Environmental Protection Specialist II
Cc: Robert Ernst / Bernard Buria, BLM Uncompahgre Field Office
