8.1.4 Surface Runoff Routing
The sediment ditches and some clear water ditches will remain in place upon completion of
reclamation to direct surface runoff. The sediment ditch downslope from the buttress will be
removed after final reclamation and all surface runoff from the reclaimed RPE East and surrounding
tributary area will be directed to pre - development drainage patterns. After removal of the haul roads,
the majority of the clear water drainage areas will be restored to previous drainage patterns, with the
exception of drainage towards the refuse pile area which will be diverted around the pile via the clear
water ditches remaining in place contiguous to the pile. The existing road to the east of the pile
diverts clear water away from the refuse pile and will also remain in place.
After final reclamation is complete, a technical revision will be submitted to demonstrate routing of
surface runoff from the RPE East to a sediment control pond is no longer needed to comply with
water quality regulations. Sediment ditches will be left in place at the east and west limits of the
RPE East to safely convey water from the surface of the refuse pile to a point in the vicinity of the
toe of the rock buttress, where the sediment and clear water ditches will be reconfigured after
reclamation to merge into one channel to the bottom of No Name Gulch and the culvert under
Highway 133. The clear water diversion culvert under the northernmost haul road will also be
removed at this time
Revised March 19, 2010' t _ - zfi O
Revised April 9, 2010 e (-"
Revised April 19, 2010 Z
P:\Mpls \06 CO \26 \06261003 MCC Refuse Pile Site Review & Permit \WorkFiles\Permit Applic tition \Text\2010- 04- 19_RPE East Permit Application.doc
