Hopemore Shaft: <br />1) The Hopemore Shaft has received its tourist mine designation and received an updated <br />Lake County conditional use permit (CUP) <br />2) Permanent metal mine permit identification signs have been posted on the main gate to <br />the facility and on the mine building, identifying the permitee and permit number. <br />3) Permit boundary stakes have been replaced. <br />4) Rehabilitation of the underground levels continued for tourist access. <br />5) Rehabilitation of the cage and mantrip continued. <br />6) The mine building has been extensively cleaned, cleared of extraneous material and <br />equipment in preparation tourist facilities. Major work continued on the tourist surface <br />facilities/dry facilities. <br />7) Rehabilitation of the surface air compressors continued. <br />8) Construction of board walks, parking and view deck continued. <br />9) Landfill disposable items inside and outside the mine buildings were collected and <br />tranported to the Lake County Landfill. <br />10) Sediment control measures included cleaning culverts and maintaining berms and roads <br />at the entrance of the facility. <br />11) A weed control plan was filed, accepted and implemented. <br />12) Air Quality APEN regulations were reviewed and determined that the Hopemore shaft <br />does not meet the APEN submittal requirements as a tourist mine. <br />Anticipated June 18, 2010 to June 18, 2011 Activites <br />No new disturbances within previously undisturbed areas or permanent reclamation activities are <br />anticipated within the next 12 months. Therefore no new map is required. The mine disturbed <br />area remains at 1.9 acres. The mill disturbed area remains at 6.6 acres. No map is submitted <br />with the Annual Report. Total bond on the properties remains at $81,700 as determined by the <br />Division in November 2007. <br />Calais continues to have an exclusive use lease of the Leadville Mill facilities and site for the <br />processing of Cross Mine ore. UMC remains contractually committed to activate the mill within <br />120 days notice by Calais and exclusively operate the mill until released by Calais. UMC is <br />currently fully funded, with established lines of working capital, to fulfill the resumption of the <br />Leadville Mill operations. The Leadville Mill remains idle today as a result of the inability of <br />Calais to deliver ore to the facility. <br />The Hopemore Shaft facilities received an annual Tourist Mine inspection from the Mine Safety <br />and Training Program this week. Calais and Mr. Calder are working on a new 110(2) permit <br />application for the Hopemore Shaft. It was anticipated that the application would have been <br />submitted in the previous year, however work continues on this application with submittal <br />anticipated during this year. <br />Extensive care and maintenance activities will continue to occur during the upcoming year at the <br />Leadville Mill. The Leadville Mill activities anticipated for the upcoming year are reported <br />below, classified as on-going activities with and without Calais being able to supply ore to the <br />facility.
