MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2009
COLORADO CALUMET COMPANY INCORPORATED
PERMIT NO. M-2006-034
Prepared: 10 March 2010
Submitted: 11 May 2010
Summary:
Colorado Calumet Company Inc. operated mechanized equipment on the Blue Streak No.
1 and No. 2 mining claims, 3 June through 20 June 2009 in Teller County, Colorado to
produce amazonite, smoky quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other related pegmatite mineral
specimens. Of these 18 days, the machinery was idle 3 days for either Sunday or
operations elsewhere. A John Deere 992 and/or 690 track hoe was used along with a small
bulldozer and appropriate air compressor and water buffalo. Mining occurred at Site C on
the Blue Streak No. 2 and at Sites H, J, and L on the Blue Streak No. 1. Only Site L and a
prospect at Site C remained open at the completion of mining.
Map Depicting Operations:
Attached is a map which shows the four claims covered under this mining permit. The 14
permitted excavation sites are labeled by letters A through N and are indicated by dashed
lines, either rectangular or circular, on the map. An orange area within a permitted site
indicates an open excavation where work will resume during next season. Presently there
are two. Green shaded areas are excavations that have been refilled, recontoured, and
reseeded. Blue shaded areas would indicate reclamation over 80 percent regrowth. Sites A
and B on Blue Streak No. 2 are considered 80 percent regrowth.
Current Disturbances (2009):
Site C on the Blue Streak No. 2 was opened 0.03 acre, closed and reseeded except for a
small prospect. Site I on the Blue Streak No. 1 was opened for 0.23 acre, closed,
recontoured, and reseeded. The access road remains open. Site J was opened for 0.11 acre,
closed, recontoured, and reseeded. Site L was partially opened 0.18 acre and mined. It
remains open for 2010 operations. A total of 0.55 acre was disturbed not counting access
roads. Of this, all but 0.18 acre was closed and reclaimed.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2009):
A total of 1.55 acres has been disturbed and reclaimed since 2006. This does not include
the access roads connecting Sites A and B and E and C. These roads have also been
reclaimed.
