•
•
The composite turf reinforcement mat (C -TRM) shall be a machine - produced mat of 100% UV stabilized polypropylene fiber matrix
incorporated into a permanent three - dimensional turf reinforcement matting.
The matrix shall be evenly distributed across the entire width of the matting and stitch bonded between the bottom and middle ultra heavy
duty UV stabilized nettings with 0.50 x 0.50 inch (127 x 127 cm) openings and then covered by an ultra heavy duty UV stabilized
nettings with 0.50 x 0.50 inch (127 x 1.27 cm) openings. The middle, dramatically corrugated (crimped) netting shall form prominent
closely spaced ridges across the entire width of the mat. The three nets shall be stitched together on 1.50 inch (3.81 cm) centers with UV
stabilized polypropylene thread to form a permanent three - dimensional turf reinforcement matting.
Twical
0.76 in (1930 mm)
95%
0.528 oz!m' (0.913 gf cm')
21.45 oz/yd= (723 9WO
96%
122,906 ijelydi (1,684,589 cm' /m)
36627 oz -in (4,087,934 mg-cm)
16%
100%
763 lbs /$(11.15 kNlm) [13 81 lbs/fr (20.15 kN/tn)]
10%[13
1134 lbs/fr (1655 kN/m) 11523 lbs/ft (2223 kN/m)]
11%[13%]
*ASTM Di 682 (4 inch strip) Tensile Strength and percent Strength Retention of material following 1000 hrs exposure in Xenon -Arc Weatherometer.
MD — Machine direction
TD — Transverse direction
Bench Scale
•
ECTC Method 2 — Determination of
unvegetated RECP's ability to protect soil
from rain splash and associated =off
ti, jt.IVLCtnuu a — ,mac......,.... _
unvegetated RECP's ability to protect soil
from hydraulically- induced shear stress.
Failure criteria = 0.50 inch soil loss
ECTC Draft M etnoa'+ LC Ci "L' auvu va
temporary RECP performance in encouraging
seed germination and plant growth
nee o et ;n = Snil LOSS With Bare Soil /
.,U mm (L mpar gut J. ,,,,.,
100 min (4 in)/hr for 30 min
150 mm (6 in)/hr for 30 min
Shear. 4.48 lbs/fl for 30 min
Shear. 5.14 lbs/ft for 30 min
Shear. 5.64 Ibs/fF for 30 min
Shear at 0.50 inch•soil loss (450g)
Top soil; Fescue (Kentucky 31); 21 da;
incubation 27° C t 20 & approximately
50 %RH
xii Loss with RECD (NOTE: Soil loss ba
Sort loss ratio* = tu.iy
Soil loss ratio* = 9.98
Soil loss 0-* = 9.53
Soil loss: 262g
Soil loss: 4459
Soil loss: 6459.
5.1 lbSIW
Percent improvement = 354%
(increased biomass)
on regression a nalysis)
tBench Scale Performance Testing
Bench scale tests are index property tests.
