As stated in Exhibit E of the Reclamation Permit Application, the final reclamation plan for this portion of. the site was to return the disturbed ground to pastureland,and, to match the reclaimed grade of the property to the pre-existing grade. Consistent with Exhibit- E, .backfilling of the mined pit and grading activities were concurrent with mining- operations: As .listed below, reclamation-; of the site has complied with additional subsections of the- Reclamation Performance Standards. 3.1:5 ' Materials Handling To meet requirements, the following activities were performed. • Grading created a_ final topography appropriate for the permitted final land use, pastureland. • Backfilling was performed with adequate compaction for stability. No structures are planned for the site, so compaction testing was not necessary: • No mining highwalls were left on the site and all slopes were graded to control potential erosion and siltation. Grading of all slopes was done as mining progressed. • No refuse, acid-forming, or toxic producing.materials were mined-or produced on the site. " • No drill or auger holes were part of the mining operations and no adits or shafts were created. • No significant slopes were left on the site: Slopes are consistent with the. pre-existing topography and appropriate for use as pastureland. • The reclamation choice for. pastureland may require that the area be plowed, planted and mowed. The area is graded so farm machinery can traverse the, area when needed. • Structural fill was not used to back-fill the. excavated pit. • Material that could" potentially cause unauthorized releases -of, pollutants to the surface drainage system was not mined or disposed of within the affected area. • No unauthorized release of pollutants to groundwater .occurred from materials mined or handled within the permit area. All backfilling and grading was done as -mining progressed. Final grading was completed in the surnmer of 2005 after the completion of mining activities. Revegetation at - the site was performed in Fall 2005. 3.1.6 Water --General Requirements Disturbances to the prevailing hydrologic-balance of the affected land and surrounding area were minimized. • The operator has complied.with applicable Colorado water -laws and regulations governing injury to existing water rights.
