Preliminary Adequacy Review <br />Yule Stone Quarry. M-1999-058 <br />Amendment, AM-01 <br />May 10, 2010 <br />Per Rule 1.6.2(e) the Division requires proof of notice to all adjacent landowners identified in the <br />amendment application. DRMS has not received proof of notice to the adjacent landowners. Please <br />note this must include adjacent landowners at the storage area. <br />Per Rule 6.2.1(2)(b) all maps must be signed by a registered land surveyor, professional engineer, or <br />other qualified person, give date prepared and identify and outline the area which corresponds with <br />the application. Staff notes that submitted maps are drafts and will probably be modified after the <br />site visit on Amy 20, 2010. <br />Per Rule 6.3, Specific requirements for a 112 Reclamation Operation: <br />6.3.1- Exhibit A, Legal Description. Appears to be adequate. <br />6.3.2 - Exhibit B, Site Description. Please provide a map of the stockpile area that meets the <br />requirements of 6.3.2(b). <br />6.3.3 - Exhibit C, Mining Plan is addressed adequately through the original permit application and <br />updated narration with the following exceptions: <br />(g) What measures will be installed to ensure haul road sedimentation within the mine permit <br />area is controlled? The length and slope of the haul road to upper dump areas is a concern. <br />(i) Please clarify the maintenance schedule for sedimentation ponds and structures to ensure <br />proper containment sizing is not compromised. <br />(p) Please clarify that no impacts from blasting will affect the adjacent landowner's structures. <br />They appear to be close to the Y mile exclusion zone noted. <br />6.3.4 - Exhibit D, Reclamation Plan is addressed adequately through the original permit application and <br />updated narration with the following exceptions: <br />The general reclamation plan appears not to address the reclamation of the storage/ stockpile area. <br />(1) Does reclamation of northern slope above McIntyre property have measures to prevent <br />impacts off-site long term since access is being denied? <br />(2) Please provide source information for costs of importation of topsoil noted in cost <br />estimate.
