C-1996-083 - PR-12
Adequacy Review - MLT
04 May 2010
retain language regarding monitoring of the Bruce Park landslide. Please review the various
monitoring plans for the Bruce Park Dam and Landslide and verify that the permit text is
internally consistent regarding the monitoring efforts proposed.
The 3rd paragraph on page 2.05-151 refers to a limited extraction zone that has been established
where the 1 West Mains cross under Terror Creek and the WAPA transmission line. The
following paragraph reiterates the WAPA zone. Maps 14-B and 27 do not appear to have been
modified to illustrate the limited extraction zones described. Please revise Maps 14-B and 27 to
depict the limited extraction zones for the 1 West Mains.
General Comments regarding Maps
Map 07 - Geology
• The Legend provides a symbol for "B-Seam Projected" workings, but these workings have
not been depicted on the map. Please revise the map to represent the B-Seam Projected
workings, including the 1 West Mains.
• There are areas of red and green cross-hatching shown within the permit boundary, but the
Legend does not explain these symbols. Please add the red and green cross-hatching
symbols and explanations to the Legend.
• The source of the geologic base map is not identified - please provide a reference to the base
map used to develop Map 07.
• On the Strike and Dip symbols shown on the map (2) and Legend., the Dip is mistakenly
given in %. The numbers are correct, but the unit should be Degrees (°). Please modify each
of these symbols accordingly.
Maps 08 and 08A - Geologic Cross Sections
• In the map view at the bottom of the sheets, the Strike and Dip symbol for the west workings
has not been added. Please add the second strike/dip symbol to this view.
Map 27 - Subsidence
• The Legend indicates that the B-Seam Completed Workings are shown in a light purple
color, while dark purple is used on the map. Please ensure that a consistent color is used in
the Map and Legend.
This concludes my preliminary adequacy comments for PR-12. Please do not hesitate to contact
me with any questions that may arise.
cc: Sandy Brown, DRMS
