Lands south of the Purgatoire River, lands east of the South, Fork of the Purgatoire <br />River and A/amosa Canyon, lands north of Vermejo Park, and lands west of Widow <br />Woman Canyon, containing approximately 3,142 acres. <br />The mine is located approximately 2 miles east of Segundo and approximately 17 miles <br />west of Trinidad, Colorado, on State Highway 12. The mine site is located on the U.S. <br />Geological Survey 7.5 minute Quadrangle maps titled "Tercio", "Weston", and "Little <br />Pine Canyon." <br />Mining operations commenced in September 2001 and continued until June 2002 when <br />operations were ceased due to market conditions. Shortly after that time, the mine <br />began reclamation operations. Currently the backfilling and grading of all pit areas has <br />been completed. Presently, reclamation operations continue with topsoil replacement, <br />seeding, and maintenance work as needed. <br />Section II - Revisions to the Permit <br />One technical revision application and two minor revisions were reviewed since Permit <br />Renewal No. 2 was approved in September 2008.
