Individual Mine Site Observations and Photographs.
Topaz Mine, COC-52049
There was no activity at the Topaz Mine portal. The toe of the dump appeared to be dry
everywhere and there was no "wet" vegetation to indicate a seep at the toe of the dump. A large
office trailer on wheels looked like it was waiting to be hauled off site. Very little vegetation
was observed on the dump. The remains of last year's weeds could be seen on the margins of the
dump, but new weeds and/or other vegetation had not begun to grow. A stake marking the
location of a proposed monitoring well was located in the northwestern part of the dump.
Figure 1: Topaz Portal. Note lack of Ne-_,etation.

7 7
Figure 2: Looking west across the Topaz dump towards Hamm Canyon. Not the lack of any standing water,
seeps, or water-loving vegetation at the toe of the dump.
