Please find those responses below.
Adequacy Comment 1
Please provide a narrative or a revised map M10B Sheet 3 delineating the topsoil stripping that is to be
conducted within the areas of future mining activities within K-Pit.
Please find a revised map M10B Sheet 3. This revision delineates topsoil stripping conducted in 2009
within K-Pit, and represents the extent of topsoil salvage activities to be conducted in K-Pit.
Adequacy Comment 2
Please address this discrepancy with the page numbers and the information provided on the proposed
pages.
Please find revised pages 3-27a and 3-27d, in addition to new page 3-27aa.
Adequacy Comment 3
Please clarify, in the revised pages of the permit, whether it is indeed TMI's intent to comply with the
recommendations made in the current AAI report. Specifically:
a) For K-Pit Mining, does TMI plan to reduce the gradients of slopes (by excavating material) in K-
Pit which are currently steeper than 181 and will haul roads be designed with the maximum cut
and fill slopes of 3H:1V when located in or above the I-Seam?
b) AAI seems to indicate (Page 8) that in lieu of placing spoils in the K-Pit Buttress, they may be
used in reclamation of the AE-Pit. Revised permit pages submitted with TR-106 do not mention
this possibility. Please clarify the list of proposed locations for placement of excess spoil from the
K-Pit.
In response to part "a" of Comment 3, please refer to the final paragraph of the Kimber Pit Mining Area
section of the revised page 3-15a. TMI does intend to comply with those recommendations.
P.O. Box 187 Craig, Colorado 81626 (970) 824-4401
