GAEDE PIT
M-1978-051
TECHNICAL REVISION
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Imported Topsoil Required
Permitted Area of the site: 1,000 Lin. Ft. by 435 Lin Ft.
Disturbed Area requiring imported topsoil: measured April 15, 2010 by Ken
Morrison:
660 Lin. Ft. by 365 Lin. Ft.
= 240, 900 Sq. Ft. or 5.53 acres.
The technical revision calls for the importation of 3 to 4 inches of clean
topsoil. For quantity calculations use the average of 3.5 inches:
240.900 sq. ft. X 3.5"/12" = 70,262 cu. ft./ 27 cu. ft/cu. yd.
= 2602 cubic yards
Lincoln County will import approximately 2600 cubic yards of topsoil. The
import of the topsoil will commence when the current stockpiles of
sand/gravel and some additional removal. of material occurs. The additional
removal would be in depth only; there would be no additional area disturbed.
Lincoln County projects that the pit will be exhausted of available material
in the fall of 2010 or early summer of 2011. The importation of the topsoil
would within two or three months of the last removal of material.
Reclamation will start once the proper quantity of topsoil is imported and
properly placed.
