8 . Colowyo provided additional detail on slope roughening practices on amended pages
2.05-48 and 2.05-49, as requested by the Division. Item Resolved.
9. The Division requested clarification regarding [post -2007] soil replacement plans for the
East Pit, Gssard Ldut, and facilities area. Narrative on amended page 2.05 -47
indicates that variable topsoil replacement would apply to both original and South Taylor
areas ' " on ridge tops with variably deeper application down slopes to the bottom of
coherent drainages"). The variable soil replacement plan as presented seems to be
focused on pit and fill disturbance areas. It is not clear how the variable replacement plan
would apply to the Gssard Ladout and facility area locations, given the location and
landf rms in these facility locations.
short paragraph o n page 2.05-47 notes that prior r to 2005, essentially all reclamation
units were covered with an average of 18 inches of topsoil, with certain noted exceptions.
It is noted in various text sections that the variable topsoil replacement approach initiated
with 2008 reclamation. Presumably, all areas reclaimed 1n 2005 through 2007 were
subject to " average uniform. replacement thickness requirement, but this should be
clarified.
Please provide narrative clarification in the text on page 2.05-47 regarding
reclamation units (area/year) where the " average uniform replacement thickness
applied in the past or would apply in the future, The variable replacement plan
would not seem to be applicable to the Gossard Loadout and mine facility areas;
please clarify the replacement plan for these locations.
10. This item also requested clarification regarding variable vs. uniform thickness
replacement areas. Please refer to Item 9 above.
