Whetstone
Associates
Technical Memorandum
15) Please provide a copy of the Yang and Edwards (1984) publication that reported that the
upstream U concentration in Ralston Creek was 4.0 mg/L.
In response to this comment, the Yang and Edwards (1984) paper was provided to DRMS by e-mail
on April 5, 2010. The upstream water quality in Ralston Creek is reported as 0.13 pCi/L Ra-226 and
4 ug/L uranium. The data published in this paper was collected before the sumps and upgraded
water treatment plant were operational. This paper was one of the major reasons the sumps were
installed in the alluvium in 1990.
REFERENCES
DRMS, 2009.
