11.) Will a sterile/non - competitive covercrop of sorghum-sudangrass be established at <br />the site to aid native grass establishment as recommended by the NRCS in the <br />paragraph below the seed mixture? The Division recommends following the NRCS <br />recommendation. Or, will mulch be used at the site? If so, what type will be used and <br />how many tons per acre will be applied? <br />12.) Will the perimeter side slopes be graded to a 3:1 horizontal to vertical ratio in Phase <br />A of the mining operation prior to mining phase B? Concurrent reclamation of the <br />perimeter slopes will likely lower the financial warranty amount. <br />13.) It appears the topsoil and overburden stockpiles will be in place for over one <br />growing season before it is re-spread on a reclaimed area. Please explain how it will be <br />protected from wind and water erosion? The Division recommends seeding the <br />stockpiles will a cover crop, such as western wheatgrass. <br />14.) Will the grass seed mixture be planted with a grass drill, broadcast seeder or by <br />another means? If the seed mixture will be broadcast seeded the seeding rate proposed <br />by the applicant will need to be doubled. <br />6.4.6 EXHIBIT F - Reclamation Plan Map <br />15.)
