(Page 3)
of the corrective actions.
Following the inspection of the Longacre Ranch, it was determined the backfilling of the gullies occurred within
the permitted mine site. The gullies on the Longacre Ranch, to the west of the drainage channel, have not been
repaired. Tire tracks were observed within the drainage channel on the Longacre Ranch; however, the tire tracks
were too small to have been made by mine equipment. Several small pieces of asphalt were observed near the
property line between the Westhoff Pit and the Longacre Ranch. There was no indication that concrete or other
non-inert material had been buried on the Longacre Ranch. The Operator has erected a 3-strand barbed wire
fence around the mine site and an adjacent 40 acre parcel owned by the Operator. The fence coincides with
portions of the permit boundary, but the purpose of erecting the fence was to delineate the property boundary in
an attempt to settle land use disputes between the Operator and the Longacre Ranch. Topsoil and vegetation on
the Longacre Ranch was disturbed as a result of installing the fence. However, the Division does not consider
this to be a jurisdictional issue, since the installation of the fence was not a mine related activity.
This concluded the inspection.
I & E Contact Address
NAME: Grea Westhoff
OPERATOR: Morgan Sand & Gravel
STREET: 91915 Hwy 59
CITY/STATE/ZIP: Fort Morpon- C-0 80701
cc: 8 Tony Waldron, DRMS
8 Patrick Schilken, Schilken & Kautt, PC
