•
DILL PIT
Exhibit B
L'
The proposed mining will start at the northern portion of the proposed mining area
where the operator will excavate to depth of 10'. This area will be in the lowest elevation
portion of the existing dry creek. Once the 10' depth is reached, the operator will use a
simple hand operated posthole digger to sample depths. This method will be used until
the ground water depth is reached. With the groundwater depth established a survey level
will be used to establish the groundwater elevation from the permanent BLM marker
north of the area in the south Right of Way fence of Highway 24. The BLM marker will
be used as the benchmark for the pit. The posthole excavations will be backfilled and
compacted. Using the permanent BLM marker as a benchmark, the minimum 2' of
material above the established groundwater elevation will be maintained as the mining
operation proceeds to the south. Periodically, the hand operated posthole digger will be
used to verify the groundwater depth, and the bottom of the pit excavation will be
modified as needed to maintain the minimum 2' of material above the groundwater.
d) A wildlife statement is not required. However it is unlikely that any wildlife
species will be impacted negatively.
n
U
