RESPONSE
Twentymile Coal, LLC is owned by American Land Holdings of Colorado, LLC, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Peabody Investments Corporation; successor by sale to Peabody Energy Corporation from
RAG American Coal Company (April 16, 2004). Prior to this sale, Twentymile Coal Company was a
subsidiary of RAG American Coal Company. RAG American Coal Company was the successor by
merger of Cyprus Amax Coal Company (June 30, 1999).
Twentymile Coal, LLC has no owners and controllers as defined by Rules 1.04(83a) and 1.04(92) other
than American Land Holdings of Colorado, LLC, and its owners, officers and directors; American Land
Development, LLC, and its owners, officers and directors; Peabody Investments Corporation, and its
owners, officers and directors; and Peabody Energy Corporation, and its owners, officers and directors.
