Box 187
Craig, CO 81626
RE: Trapper Mining, Inc., Permit No. C-1981-010, Technical Revision No. 106
Adequacy Comments
Dear Mr. Mattern,
COLORADO
D I V I S 10 N OF
RECLAMATION
MINING
- t5t-
SAFETY
Bill Ritter, Jr.
Governor
James B. Martin
Executive Director
The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) conducted its review of Trapper
Mining Inc.'s application for a Technical Revision (TR-106). Please respond to the following
adequacy comments as necessary:
The approved Topsoil Stripping and Reclaim map MIOB Sheet 3 dated 10/22/2007 and
submitted with Permit Revision 06 identifies topsoil striping limits in the area of K-Pit to be
conducted in the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012. The proposed Topsoil Stripping and
Reclaim map MIOB Sheet 3 submitted with the TR-106 application does not delineate any
topsoil stripping in the areas of proposed mining.
Please provide a narrative or a revised map M10B Sheet 3 delineating the topsoil
stripping that is to be conducted within the areas of future mining activities within K-Pit
2. The TR-106 application proposes pages 3-27a, 3-27b, and 3-27c to be approved. However,
these proposed pages do not provide the same information as approved pages 3-27a, 3-27b, and
3-27c. Approved pages 3-27d, and two un-numbered pages identifying Figure 1 and Figure
MR-213-1 also provide information concerning monitoring locations for the K-Pit area.
Please address this discrepancy with the page numbers and the information provided on
the proposed pages.
3. The current AAI analysis makes several specific recommendations regarding K-Pit Mining and
the K-Pit Buttress, summarized beginning on Page 7 with Section 4.0. The revised permit
pages submitted with TR-106 do address the proposed change in height of the buttress, but do
not make mention of the other recommendations made by AAI.
Please clarify, in the revised pages of the permit, whether it is indeed TMI's intent to
comply with the recommendations made in the current AAI report.
