When a seam sample is removed from the panel being fabricated the resulting hole will be <br />repaired with a patch with a minimum of a one inch bonded area around the patch, and the patch <br />will be rounded on all corners. <br />G. Factory fabricated geomembrane panels are packaged accordion folded on a sturdy wooden <br />pallet designed for fork lift truck access. Smaller panels (i.e. less than 500 lbs.) can be rolled on <br />a fiber core, and placed on a pallet. <br />H. All panels will be packaged with a protective, black stretch wrap or cardboard cover to protect <br />the panel from weather or shipping damage. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 SUBGRADE PREPARATION <br />A. Preparation of the subgrade shall be as specified in the EARTHWORK specification. <br />3.02 GEOMEMBRANE PLACEMENT <br />A. Weather Conditions <br />1. Geomembrane placement shall not proceed at an ambient temperature below 35-F or <br />above 120-F unless the INSTALLER demonstrates, to the satisfaction of the <br />ENGINEER, that procedures can be implemented which will result in the proper <br />installation. <br />• 2. Geomembrane placement shall not be performed during precipitation, excessive moisture, <br />in an area of ponded water, or excessive winds that adversely affect the geomembrane <br />placement. <br />B. Method of Placement <br />1. All panels of the geomembrane shall be factory seamed at the MANUFACTURER'S <br />facility. <br />The ENGINEER shall inspect each panel after placement for damage and/or defects. <br />Defective or damaged panels shall be replaced or repaired, in accordance with Paragraph <br />Repair Procedures. <br />3. The INSTALLER shall avoid dragging the geomembrane sheets on the bedding material. <br />4. All geomembrane shall be anchored as shown on the Drawings and consistent with <br />MANUFACTURER's recommendations. <br />5. Personnel working on the geomembrane shall not smoke, wear damaging shoes or <br />involve themselves in any activity that may damage the geomembrane. <br />6. All edges of the geomembrane shall be properly weighted to avoid uplift due to wind. <br />• 7. Vehicular traffic across the geomembrane shall not be allowed. <br />All damaged areas shall be recorded and located on the as-built drawings by the <br />ENGINEER. <br />JOB NO. 64986. 10.1
