Denison Mines (USA) Corp.
Van 4 Mine - Ore Storage Pad
1. The MANUFACTURER of the lining material described hereunder shall have previously
0 demonstrated his/her ability to produce this geomembrane by having at least 5 years
continuous experience in the manufacturing of PVC geomembrane and successfully
manufactured a minimum of 10 million square feet of similar liner material for hydraulic
lining installations.
B. INSTALLER
The INSTALLER shall be the MANUFACTURER or an approved INSTALLER trained
and certified to install the MANUFACTURER's geomembrane. Installation shall be
performed under the constant direction of the INSTALLER AND ENGINEER who shall
remain on site and be in responsible charge, through the geomembrane installation, for
geomembrane layout, patching, repairs and all other activities required by the
INSTALLER.
1.04 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING
A. Geomembrane labeling, shipment and storage shall follow ASTM D 4551 as modified according
to this Specification.
B. Product labels shall be placed on the top of panels such that they can be seen, clearly showing the
fabricator or supplier name, product description, panel number, and panel dimensions.
C. Each panel of PVC shall include any additional information required to allow the ENGINEER to
relate that panel with the manufacturing quality control and raw material quality assurance
documentation. Additionally, if any special handling is required, it shall be so marked on the
outside surface of the wrapping.
D. During storage, the geomembrane shall be placed on a stable, relatively flat, dry, well-drained
surface. The geomembrane shall be stored onsite for no longer than 10 days prior to installation.
The geomembrane pallets shall not be placed on objects that may cause deformation of the
geomembrane panels. Adequate space shall be left between stored panels, such that panel labels
can be examined. The geomembrane shall be protected from the following:
1. Site construction damage.
2. Chemicals that are strong acids or bases.
3. Flames, sparks, geomembrane temperatures in excess of 150 degrees F.
4. Any environmental condition including UV radiation that might damage the
geomembrane.
E. Panel numbers on partially used panels must be maintained such that each panel number can be
readily identified prior to deployment of the remaining portions of the panel.
F. If the ENGINEER determines the geomembrane is damaged, the INSTALLER shall make all
repairs and replacements in a timely manner, so as to prevent delays in the progress of the work.
1.05 MATERIAL WARRANTY
A. The INSTALLER shall issue a warranty on the installation of geomembrane for a minimum
period of 1 year.
JOB NO. 64986.10.1 2
