Two types of seeding will be used each of the areas to be seeded are shown on the
accompanying Exhibit F, Reclamation Plan Map. Seeding recommendations, contained within
the initial application, follow:
Habitat Plant
Scientific Name
Grasses Bouteloua curti
- ----.._..... _..._......._ .................. --
Medicago sativa
Oryzopsis hymenpies
Pluraphis torr
.... ..... ...... ..... ............__..._.... __.... ....
.....................
Pascopyrum smithii
Sporobolus cyptandrus
Hesperostipa comate
Atriplex Confertifolia
Festuea brevipila
Seeding will normally be done in the fall when temperatures and adequate soil moisture are
present, typically between September 15 and October 15. Seeding will be accomplished by
either broadcasting, or by using a seed drill. If broadcasting is used, seed rates will be
doubled. Due to the nature of the backfill material, hay, straw or fiber mulch is considered to be
necessary. Mulching will be accomplished with a clean certified weed free straw at a rate of
2000 pounds per acre either crimped or "tacified" at 200 pounds per acre.
Rev. 02/25/10 2
PLS
ies *
Ib /acre
Common Name
Plant Species *
Sideoats Grama ..-
0.75
......... ... ...............................
............. -- ------ ....... _. .................................................. _ ...........
Alfalfa
12.0
............................ _ .............. _..__. ... _. ........................ _ ........ ....._.................._.................................................
Indian Rice -Grass
3.0
......... .... .............. .......................
.............................................. _.. ....... .......................................................
Galleta Grass _
5.0
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Western Wheatgrass
. ..... . .
. . . . . . .
7.5
. . . . . . . . . . _ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . _ ......................
. . . . . . . . . . .
T Sand Drop seed .......... ....._........... .........._...
-
.... ................_ .
Needle and Thread _ ... ;...................
0.25
...............................
..........._.. ... .............. ...._. .............................................................................
Timothy.........._...._..... — - ..........._.
....?0......
Hard Fescue
5.0
...............................
..._._......------......._ ......................................................................................................
TOTAL
35.75
Seeding will normally be done in the fall when temperatures and adequate soil moisture are
present, typically between September 15 and October 15.
