Dryland Pasture 21.9% 441.7 Yes
Reclaimed Area
2008 0 M=_
* adequacy demonstrated via one-sample "standard null" t-test
'Production adjusted using factor from Soil Correction Table.
Details of the statistical analysis of the revegetation is present in the same BIO-Logic report.
The BIO-Logic report did not include the downward adjustment of the Irrifated Pasture
reference area in the calculations of the production statistical mean. This makes the BIO-
Logic comparison of reference and reclaimed areas more conservative. The reclaimed areas
still achieve success without the downward adjustment of the reference area production
values.
Irrigated Pasture cover in the reclaimed area is 126.7% of the mean in 2007 and 95.1% of the
mean in 2008. Dryland Pasture cover in the reclaimed area is 118% of the mean in 2008. The
2007 Dryland Pasture cover adequacy was demonstrated using a one-sample "standard null" t-
test (see BIO-Logic report). This test was outlined in TR-58, as follows:
If sample adequacy exists at the reclaimed site and the reference area, and the mean value at
the reclaimed site is less than Q [90% of standard], a "standard null" one-sided t-test with
alpha error probability of 0.10 will be used, in conformance with DRMS Regulation
4.15.11(2)(b), using the general form of the one-sided t-test as follows:
t _ Q-x
Sz
Where:
X = Bond Release Block Sample Mean
Q = 90 % of Standard
S- = Standard error of mean [ s / -Fn
S = Sample standard deviation
n = Sample size
t? = Calculated t value
t, = Table t value
29
