The footnote
symbol does not make this clear.
I think there needs to be a column for "90% of Mean" right after the column for "Production Mean" and before
the column for "Adjusted Mean".
Since the adjusted mean applies only to the IP reference area production values, the table would be cleaner and
less confusing if the cells to which the adjustment does not apply were cross-hatched, to indicate "not
applicable".
Sorry about that,
Dan
From: Ben Langenfeld [mailto:benl@lewicki.biz]
Sent: Monday, March 08, 2010 3:09 PM
To: Mathews, Dan
Subject: RE: SL-12 Error
Dan
I think this has everything covered now.
Ben Langenfeld, Project Engineer
Greg Lewicki and Associates
office: (720) 842-5321
cell: (303) 960-5613
fax: (303) 346-6934
From: Mathews, Dan [mailto:Daniel.Mathews@state.co.us]
Sent: Monday, March 08, 2010 2:56 PM
To: Ben Langenfeld
Cc: Talvitie, Marcia; Brown, Sandy
Subject: RE: SL-12 Error
Ben, to summarize our discussion...
The Table 1 that you amended to address the soil factor adjustment has some errors. The irrigated pasture reference
area mean should have been adjusted rather than the reclaimed area mean. So that correction should be made; both
the unadjusted and adjusted mean value and (90% of mean) value should be shown on the table.
Because the adjustment would have "lowered the bar" for demonstrating success by lowering the reference area
standard, the fact that Biologic Inc. did not incorporate the soil weighting factor in their t-test demonstration of success
does not present a problem. The fact that they were apparently able to demonstrate that reclaimed mean for the IP
