19. The sediment pond will be backfilled with overburden followed by topsoil
replacement and revegetation. The'anticipated volume of the sediment
pond is approximately 2-3 acre-ft (3,227 yd3-4,840 yd 3).
20. Exhibit E (under Compacted Clay Liner Construction) has been updated to
specify 9" maximum loose lift and 6" compacted lift.
21. Exhibit E (under Compacted Clay Liner Construction) has been updated to
specify a minimum of 2" scarification between lifts.
22. Exhibit E (under CLAY LINER DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION) has been
updated to say "This design and specification of this clay liner shall not be
significantly modified without the Division of Mining Reclamation & Safety
approval"
23. Exhibit E (under CLAY LINER DESIGN AND SPECIFICATION) has been
updated to include a statement that a final construction report and
certification will be submitted to the Division.
24.A liner performance test has been specified in the Construction Quality
Assurance Plan.
25.A Construction Quality Assurance Plan (CQAP) has been added to the
end of Exhibit E.
26. The dewatering gap will be backfilled with overburden. The volume
required to do so is approximately 20,600 yd3. This task has been added
to the Reclamation sequence in Exhibit E.
27. The areas designated for backfilling will not necessarily be backfilled to
original grade, but to the grade shown by the proposed contours in Exhibit
F. A reclamation backfill summary table (Table 2) has been added to
Exhibit 'E under Reclamation Sequence.
28. The clay liner construction is anticipated to begin in the Northwest corner
and proceed-to the east along the northern boundary and move clockwise
to the point of beginning. Construction direction arrows have been added
to Exhibit F. The clay liner for the 2 acre reservoir will be constructed
following the 55 acre reservoir. Exhibit E has been updated to include this
information under Reclamation Sequence.
29. Approximately 816,000 yd3 of overburden will be removed and backfilled.
Exhibit E has been updated to include a reclamation backfill volume
summary table (Table 6.4.4-3). Because overburden backfilling will occur
concurrently with overburden stripping, the applicant requests that the
division 'considers only bonding for maximum amount of overburden
stockpile that may occur at any one time ( 150,000 yd 3).
6.4.6 Exhibit F - Reclamation Plan Map
30. The typical cross section in Exhibit F has been edited to display the
correct scale.
Environmental & Engineering
