6.4.4 Exhibit D - Mining Plan <br />soils with slopes generally ranging from 0-3%. Its thickness varies from 0-13 feet <br />with an average thickness of 6 feet. The gravel deposit is classified as Class A <br />aggregate (Schwochow et al. 1974), and has an average thickness of <br />approximately 9 feet throughout Phase 1, and approximately 12 feet in Phase 2. <br />The gravel is underlain by Pierre shale, consisting of a weathered zone directly <br />underneath the gravel. <br />Intended Use of Extracted Commodities <br />The sole commodity to be extracted from the mine is sand and gravel, which will <br />be processed and used for construction materials including but not limited to <br />asphalt hot mix and raw road base.
