Processing Waste
The Refuse Disposal Pile (RDA) was generally snow-covered and was traversed on foot. No
slope instability or changes since the last inspection were noted. The operator has
expressed an interest in terminating the quarterly inspection requirement for the RDA as
allowed by Rule 4.10.2(2)(a). A final inspection report will be conducted prior to requesting
approval of the termination of quarterly inspections.
Revegetation
Generally, winter conditions prevail at the site. However, south-facing aspects are beginning
to show signs of the coming growing season, with small ground-hugging (orbs and grasses
beginning to sprout. Soil moisture is excellent due to persistent snowfall this winter.
Offsite Support Facilities
Due to extremely poor road conditions, outlying areas including the Newlin Creek topsoil
footprint area and the South Fan area were inaccessible. These areas will be inspected at
the first opportunity when access improves.
Overall, the site appeared in good condition for the winter season.
4
