All areas of disturbances are pre- existing. Approximately 3 acres of the permit area have been
disturbed as a result of previously milling and mining activities (Exhibit E -2).

The existing road from the La Plata River to the Mayday is approximately 12 -16 feet wide,
extending for approximately 0.5 miles from the La Plata River to the Mayday Mine area erosion
and sedimentation control features within the mine area and access roads across the portal
benches is presented in Section (i).
(h) Water Usage yday Mine)
Total water requirements for the mining processing facility will consist of approximately 40
gallons per minute. Of this requirement, over 30 gallons per minute will be recycled from the
tailings filtration, leaving 10 gallons per minute of fresh, make -up water to be consumed during
processing.
The water source will be from the water that is present in underground workings at the Mayday -
Idaho Mining complex and from the Idaho augmentation ponds (see Water Rights Case No.
06CW91) discussion in Attachment C -3. Water Rights and the Supplemental Water Supply Plan
(SWSP) describe the design, construction and management of three impoundments to support the
mine and mill water requirements. The Mayday -Idaho mine diversion is designed to convey 10
gallons a minute from the mine adit to one of three ponds:
The Mayday -Idaho Wildcat Augmentation Ponds #1 is designed (See Figures 10
and 11, Attachment C -3) to contain 3.0 acre -feet. Augmentation impoundment #2
will be constructed (if deemed necessary) with a capacity of 3.0 acre feet. The
pond will have an average depth of 5 feet with a surface water area of 0.60 acres.
Impoundment #2 design and location will be submitted to DRMS for approval
