Approximately 3 acres of the permit area have been <br />disturbed as a result of previously milling and mining activities (Exhibit E -2). <br />(g) Dimensions of Existing and Proposed Roads (Rule 6.3.30)(8)) <br />The existing road from the La Plata River to the Mayday is approximately 12 -16 feet wide, <br />extending for approximately 0.5 miles from the La Plata River to the Mayday Mine area erosion <br />and sedimentation control features within the mine area and access roads across the portal <br />benches is presented in Section (i). <br />(h) Water Usage yday Mine) <br />Total water requirements for the mining processing facility will consist of approximately 40 <br />gallons per minute. Of this requirement, over 30 gallons per minute will be recycled from the <br />tailings filtration, leaving 10 gallons per minute of fresh, make -up water to be consumed during <br />processing. <br />The water source will be from the water that is present in underground workings at the Mayday - <br />Idaho Mining complex and from the Idaho augmentation ponds (see Water Rights Case No. <br />06CW91) discussion in Attachment C -3. Water Rights and the Supplemental Water Supply Plan <br />(SWSP) describe the design, construction and management of three impoundments to support the <br />mine and mill water requirements. The Mayday -Idaho mine diversion is designed to convey 10 <br />gallons a minute from the mine adit to one of three ponds: <br />The Mayday -Idaho Wildcat Augmentation Ponds #1 is designed (See Figures 10 <br />and 11, Attachment C -3) to contain 3.0 acre -feet. Augmentation impoundment #2 <br />will be constructed (if deemed necessary) with a capacity of 3.0 acre feet. The <br />pond will have an average depth of 5 feet with a surface water area of 0.60 acres. <br />Impoundment #2 design and location will be submitted to DRMS for approval <br />9 March 12, 2010 Amendment M- 1981 -185 <br />4 <br />
