MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2009
CRYSTALJACK MINING
PERMIT NO. M-1993-030
Prepared: 9 March 2010
Summary:
We operated mechanized equipment on Crystaljack mining properties from 20 May through 3
June in recovery of smoky quartz, fluorite, goethite, and other crystallized minerals. During this
time, the equipment was idle 2 days for maintenance and on Sundays. Prospecting was
completed on the Free Hawk and C & J No. 1 and No. 2 claims on 26 May. The prospects were
filled, the access road taken out, and the entire area reseeded. The remaining time was spent
mining at Site 7 on the Two Point mine. This site was filled, recontoured, and reseeded by 3
June. All sites on Crystaljack which were opened during 2009 were closed, recontoured and
reseeded.
Map Depicting Operations:
Attached are maps showing the ten claims covered under this permit, permit M-1993-030. The
maps show past excavations which have been reclaimed (green), currently open dig sites (shaded
orange) and proposed dig sites (either a blue button or a rectangle).
Current Disturbances (2009):
Two prospects, each less than 1,600 square feet were dug; site 024 on C & J No. 1 and site 018
on the Free Hawk. Neither prospect showed economic values and both were refilled, recontoured
and reseeded. Additionally, the access road was removed, recontoured and reseeded. No future
disturbances are planned for the north ends of these three claims. A prospect was opened at Site
8 on the Two Point mine, closed and reseeded. Most work occurred ant Site 7 on the Two Point
which was expanded an additional 4,000 square feet (0.09 acre), closed, and reseeded.
Reclamation Summary (Includes 2009 Reclamation):
Since this project began in 1993, approximately 4.52 acres have been excavated and reclaimed.
All newly reclaimed sites have been reseeded the same season. These sites are then planted with
trees the following season. Only Site 5 (Site E) on Qui-Buc No. 1, Site 7 on the Two Point and
recent prospects and reclaimed roads have less than 80 percent growth.
Reclamation Completed During 2009:
The area opened at Site 7 on the Two Point mine was closed, re-contoured, and reseeded. The
prospect opened at Site 8 was also closed and reseeded. We planted about 3 dozen mixed
Douglas fir and ponderosa pine on reclaimed areas on Site 7. Additionally, we planted 3 dozen
