.i;
MINED LAND RECLAMATION BOARD 110(2) ANNUAL REPORT
For Season 2009
TOPAZ MOUNTAIN GEM MINE
PERMIT NO. M-2002-003
9 March 2010
Summary:
I operated mechanized equipment at Topaz Mountain Gem Mine from 11 through 16 May, 8 and
9 Aug, and 25 and 26 Sep. I used a small excavator during May and a small backhoe during the
other dates. Additionally, I used a mechanical shaker off and on through the season. Digging by
hand occurred throughout the season between 11 May and 26 Sep. Numerous unauthorized
diggers continue to mineral trespass and dig holes throughout the season when I am not present
on site.
Map Depicting 2009 Operations:
Attached is a map depicting current and existing disturbances on Rubeck Placer and Rubeck
Placer No. 2 claims. Current and existing disturbances are indicated by red-dotted lines.
Current Disturbances 2009:
Site C was expanded an additional 5,450 square feet (0.12 acre). Again, approximately an
additional 2,000 square feet was disturbed by unauthorized mineral trespass. Total disturbance
not reclaimed is 1.35 acre.
Reclamation Accomplished to Date (Including 2009 Reclamation
None of the current disturbances have been reclaimed.
There is approximately 10,000 square feet (0.23 acre) total of unauthorized dig sites which will
be reclaimed as I continue mining. These are in an area where topsoil was previously removed in
preparation for mining. All topsoil has been stored and these disturbances are all within the
permit site.
Reclamation Accomplished during 2009:
Soil storage piles were temporarily seeded with native seed mix..
Proposed 2010 Operations
Mechanized operations will again consist of two sessions, approximately the first week in May
and the last week of September. Hand digging and screening of mined material using a
mechanized shaker will occur throughout the summer. Some of the northwest edge of the
excavation may be filled and reseeded.
