Methods
Samples of waste rock, ore and tailings were collected by Charlie Ponchak in 2008. These
samples were prepared (pulverized to suitable size) and submitted to Envirochem for SPLP
analysis for metals (aluminum, arsenic, barium, beryllium, cadmium, chromium, copper,
fluoride, iron, manganese, molybdenum, nickel, nitrate/nitrite, lead, selenium, silver, sulfate,
thallium and zinc).
Samples of waste rock were collected by Karmen King in 2009. These samples were also
prepared (by the laboratory) and analyzed by ACZ. The suite of analysis included SPLP for
metals content (mg/L), total metals content in solids (mg/kg), and additional parameters useful
to determine if the solids material is acid generating. These additional parameters include:
Acid: Base Accounting
• Acid Generation Potential (AGP)
• Acid Neutralization Potential (ANP)
• Acid-Base Potential (ABP = ANP - AGP)
• Neutralization Potential as CaCO3 (%)
Paste pH
Forms of Sulfur
• Sulfur Organic Residual
• Sulfur Pyritic Sulfide
• Sulfur Sulfate
• Sulfur Total
• Sulfur minus Sulfate
21 Page
